Fall Into My Orbit
Fall into my orbit,
Dance with me on these rings,
Ease into me, draw me closer, welcome me home,
Pad some of your dust under my eyes,
If only for a moment,
“Your light shines so brightly I couldn’t look upon you, but I felt you” I sobbed,
“I always felt you”,
“Will you steal me away now that you have me?” you whisper
“It’s unlikely isn’t it?” you glide closer,
You stir inside me, heat radiates from my core,
“Your heart tells of many different tales, of different times”
“Who are you in this moment?” you muse.
I am nothing and everything in this moment,
I am everything I was, and everything I could be,
The sensation is racing through my body,
I feel an energy that couldn’t possibly be my own,
“It’s incredible how short a moment can be” you hum.
And I find myself nodding in the chair,
I stare at the popcorn on the ceiling trying to find you in them,
A constellation only observed here,
My chest feels brighter, the room feels brighter,
You fell into my orbit,
You danced with me on these rings,
You eased into me, drew me closer, welcomed me home,
For that, you’re the star I will always wish upon.
